1Corinthians 1:28-31

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

Psalm 4

“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have relieved me in my distress;
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

How long, O you sons of men,
Will you turn my glory to shame?
How long will you love worthlessness
And seek falsehood? Selah
But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly;
The Lord will hear when I call to Him.” Psalm 4: 1-3

Dear Lord, we thank You that You have set apart those who walk in righteousness with You. We praise You that You hear our prayers and set us free from our troubles. You know every heart and those who truly serve You. Deliver us from evil and let Your countenance shine upon us, that we may be used as vessels for You… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Sweet Surrender

Honu-Waimanalo

I come in sweet surrender,
My life I yield to you,
My body, mind and spirit,
And all I say and do.

I lay all my emotions,
My healing I leave to you.
I make you Lord and Master
Of all I am and do.
