The best thing my mother has done for me is
To bear me and make me strong
Teach me manners and right from wrong
Filled my heart with compassion and love
She is guiding me still from up above.

In my arms I feel her strength
To hold and love where charity’s meant
In my legs she holds me firm
To carry the burdens of the old and infirm.

In God’s footsteps I walk with her
Listening to a mother’s advice with care
Every day she is my rod my staff
Fond memories I have with a smile and a laugh.
