Rest on His Finished Work

hand-in-hand-18

Author: Sam Ubani

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”. Matthew 11:28

Rest is a key to live a happy and productive life.

Rest is not only needed for our physical body, but our mind as well. When we embrace the attitude of living in constant trust in God, our heart gets unburdened from many questions like: What am I going to eat tomorrow? “Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?

In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.”

Job 12:7-10

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

Isaiah 58:7-11

homeless-and-hungry

Isaiah 58:7-11

Share your food with the hungry,
and give shelter to the homeless.

Give clothes to those who need them,
and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

“Then your salvation will come like the dawn,
and your wounds will quickly heal.

Your godliness will lead you forward,
and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.

Then when you call, the Lord will answer.
‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.

“Remove the heavy yoke of oppression.
Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!
Feed the hungry,
and help those in trouble.

Then your light will shine out from the darkness,
and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.

The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.

You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring.
