“And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.” Judges 6:12
The text before us is anchored on evolving events that transpired just after the Children on Israel had enjoyed a long forty years of rest, after the conquest of Jabin, king of Canaan. The first statement in the first verse of Judges 6, tells us that “the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.” Nothing exposes a Christian to attack from the enemy, than a life of sin, let our daily goal be to live for Christ daily.
You know the story how the Midianites in coaction with the Amalekites, and other countries of the east, invaded the Israelites and took away all their properties, leaving them impoverished. For fear of the midianites, the children of Israel had resorted to hide in dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds (Judges 6:2).It was on one of these dreadful days that Gideon sat under an oak tree which was in Ophrah, owned by Joash the Abiezrite to secretly threshed wheat by the winepress, and to hide it from the Midianites, that the angel of the Lord visited him, and said unto him, THOU MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR.If we can turn our lens and focus on the life of Gideon, we can easily agree that before the angelic visit, there was actually nothing mighty about Gideon, not an iota of heroism could be traced in his character, here is a man that didn’t even believe in himself, he was living in fear and mediocrity just like any average Israelite will at that time, yet God called him A MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR. We serve a God that calls things that are not as though they were (Romans4:17).
I am writing to Gideons of this generation; Men and women who are caught up in the struggle between their spiritual reality and physical manifestation; men and women like Gideon of old that have gifts on the inside, while challenges loom on the outside; potentials on the inside, problems on the outside. God is saying to you: You are a mighty man of valor. The statement by the angel was a wakeup call to Gideon in order for him to see that the God who created him has deposited a Seed of Greatness in him, it was there all along, an unused potential, waiting to be harnessed, there wasn’t greatness on his outside but there was greatness on the inside.
Friends there is greatness inside of you, the Bible says God has loaded you with benefits (Psalm 68:19), all that pertains to life and godliness He has deposited in you (2 Peter1:3). Gideon went on to overcome his lack of self belief, he brought down the idol of Baal in his father’s house, and with just three hundred men he conquered the vast army of the midianites and librated the Israelites.
Let us not allow our present circumstance deter what God can do through us.walk daily with the assurance that greatness is in you.

I'm absolutely sure that we were created to live our life to the fullest and enjoy every single moment of it. I believe that if we put our heart into God and make Him our priority, we can gain all the things that He promises us and live an abundant life.
May you find peace and truth in God's Word and may this blog lead you to that!
God bless you
