Even Heroes Need To Be Saved

Have you ever felt like a hero before?

I mean for real?

Now, have you ever, after being this person(hero I mean) at some point, you now feel like you really need a hero? I have always believed in and carried this point until recently: AT TIMES, EVEN HEROES NEED SOMEONE TO SAVE THEM!

I told a friend that being a super Christian or being a pastor doesn’t make you less human. It increases grace and anointing, yes. But don’t forget that with these also comes much more responsibilities. And as for these at times you need some boost, some words of encouragement, something to motivate. You know Earlier today, I had a strong force of discouragement around me.

Questions, fears, doubt, anxiety, and anger fueled within me.

I just needed some direct heart to heart word with someone, you know, a friend.  I couldn’t find any by the way. A dearly beloved friend encouraged me as she could but it did no good, though it was appreciated.

BUT I NEEDED SOMETHING MORE!

I went out and when coming back I met with someone whom I have never known before. Here this man was telling me how the sight of me gives him joy, strenght, happiness, peace, and… Ha! I was in shock throughout the conversation. By the way he only sees me when he is cleaning his car very early when I am going to meet my Senior Pastor and other team members during our 5 am communal outreach.

But I left him and even forgot at all.

But tonight God told me, “You sought for the right thing but from the wrong source. Yes a man CAN be a helper, encourager, hero, but a man IS NOT and SHOULD NOT be considered as the source. You needed a boost and I gave it but your direction of expectation blinded you from seeing what played right before you. Your being a blessing to that man even without knowing was enough to boost you. And like David, learn to ALWAYS ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD”,  I was humbled.

I had learned something new: YES, AT TIMES, EVEN HEROES NEED SOMEONE TO SAVE THEM. YET THERE IS ONLY ONE SURE HERO AND THAT IS CHRIST.

HE IS THE SUPER HERO, THE HERO OF HEROES.

DEPEND ON HIM TO BOOST YOU.

YES HE MAY USE MEN FOR THE JOB, BUT NEVER EXPECT FROM MEN THE THINGS ONLY GOD CAN OFFER… OR YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!
